The West Mill at Darley Abbey Mills is a stunning Grade 1 listed building that provided an absolutely perfect setting for the wedding of Adam & Sarah.

The West Mill is set over four floors of space detailing luxurious industrial architecture. This layout allowed the wedding party to escape the day’s very wet weather by moving from floor to floor without having to wait for any of the venue’s rooms to be prepared.

A beautiful wedding ceremony was followed by a naming service for Adam & Sarah’s beautiful daughter Ruby, who seemed to enjoy the whole thing judging by her happy little face. After everyone spilled out of the West Mill and into the courtyard for a group shot, before we had a walk around the grounds so Adam & Sarah could enjoy a few minutes time to themselves and capture a few portraits by the River Derwent.

I have to mention the brilliantly unique wedding breakfast, a handful of guests were given the very important duty of carving the beautiful Sirloin Joints, this was a first for me and I thought is was great, really involving the guests in the wedding more than usual.

The speeches that followed were hilarious with Matt the best man, giving a power point presentation on the Groom that got the crowd laughing and deserved the round of applause that was granted to him when he finished.

Adam & Sarah are an awesome couple who put on a beautiful wedding at a stunning venue surrounded by their closest family and friends. The weather was grim but that never stopped this wedding, everyone left with a huge smile on their face including the new Mr & Mrs Thorpe.
